http://asianfanatics.net/forum/topic/777354-jerry-yan-gets-close-to-michelle-chen-and-neglects-ivy-chen/

Jerry Yan (Yin Sing Yuk) earlier with Michelle Chen and Ivy Chen attended the film RIPPLES OF DESIRE (FA YEUNG)'s photo book autograph session and attracted 200 fans. At the event, Yin Sing Yuk kept whispering to Michelle Chen and Michelle Chen often whined to Yin Sing Yuk and Ivy Chen was neglected.

Although the film mostly fell on the two lead actresses, Yin Sing Yuk absolutely did not mind. He said, "This film originally is about two sisters' relationship, I really want to watch them perform."

A Second Life, which was played by Jerry and Ariel Lin, will be played in Mayday's concert on Dec 22.  In the short film, Jerry played 2 different roles regarding whether the end of the world would arrive or not and it would totally depend on different individual's view.  According to news, Mayday used NT8.5 millions for making this film.  When they brainstormed regarding possible male lead, someone suggested one impossible candidate, Jerry, and Ah Xin personally contacted Jerry right away.  Once Jerry realized the meaning of the short film, he agreed to film immediately and squeezed out some time from the busy filming of his upcoming drama.

Dec 5, 2012 - News

news & credits to kkla@nbbbs.com

It was reported that Jerry was super professional when filming Hua Yang.  In order to get rid of the burden of being an idol and to fully portray a wild pirate, he initiated the request of adding more scenes, wearing the costumes and painfully swimming in cold water, just to express his anger and pain after knowing that the woman he loves will soon be married to someone else.

Initially, this scene of the pirate's, Scar, showing his pain in his heart had nothing to do with swimming, but after Jerry initiated the discussion with Dir Zero, it was decided to use swimming for expressing the devastation in his heart.

In order to do an outstanding job, in Dec last year, Jerry kept swimming in cold water back and forth for 10 times.  As it was afraid the steam of warm water might affect the outcome of the shots, Jerry could only grind his teeth and stay in the cold water. The first time when he got into the water, he almost lost his balance as the wet costumes were too heavy, and he took him a while to get used to it.  Dir Zero indicated that actually the camera was set on top of Jerry and a diving coach was arranged to pull Jerry's leg down.  Even the ones who know how to swim could not help but feeling some what scared.

As he was too into acting, Jerry didn't find out that his right index finger was bruised.  As he had stayed in the cold water for too long, it totally lost the sense of pain.  In order to film Hua Yang, he got quite a number of injuries throughout his body.  However, Jerry honestly stated that he was quite ambitious on his performance in Hua Yang.  He believed that he would have breakthroughs in these two years, that's one of the reasons why he put in extra effort in his performance.

Tickets to Kaohsiung Film Festival prove popular

SOLD OUT:The annual event, which opens on Oct. 19 and is to premier a series of new movies, saw tickets for one film run out within 10 minutes of their release

By Ko Yu-hao and Stacy Hsu  /  Staff reporter, with Staff writer

With the 2012 Kaohsiung Film Festival just around the corner, tickets for the event’s opening-night film — Ripples of Desire (花漾) — sold out in less than 10 minutes on Friday, with other highly publicized movies featuring at the annual festival recording decent levels of sales, the event organizer said.

Tickets to see movies at the film festival — which is set to open on Oct. 19 and runs through Nov. 4 at the Kaohsiung Film Archive and the Cinemark Theater at the Greater Kaohsiung-based Dream Mall — went on sale on Friday at noon at 7-Eleven electronic outlets.

A special edition of Ripples of Desire which is still at special effects and audio mixing post-production stage, is to premiere on the first day of the film festival as a gesture of gratitude by director Zero Chou (周美玲) to thank Greater Kaohsiung residents.

The film’s production team is also scheduled to stage a promotional event in southern Taiwan on Oct. 18 with leading actors and actress Jerry Yen (言承旭) and Michelle Chen (陳妍希) set to make an appearance.

Meanwhile, 70 percent of the tickets put on sale for the closing night’s film, Star of Bethlehem (微光閃亮第一個清晨) as well as other blockbusters including Japanese films Under the Bridge, Chips and The Warped Forest, had sold out as of Friday, the event organizer said.

French animation Eleanor’s Secret and Spanish animation Tad, the Lost Explorer saw 50 percent of their tickets fly off the shelves on the first day of sales, as did the restored version of French classic A Trip to the Moon.

To offer a choice for economising movie enthusiasts, the film festival on Friday also released a ticket set which has proved popular selling more than 500 sets, the event-organizer said, adding that the preferential set is to remain available until the end of the film festival.

Jerry Yan's new drama: "In Love We Trust"

September 19 2012 Jerry at Dandong China for new drama, "In Love We Trust" Opening Ceremony

credits to kkla@nbbbs.com
According to information collected by sisters on the web, the plan of this drama started 2 years ago. For now, only scenery will be shot, so Jerry will go back to TW tomorrow. When all actors arrive on Sep 28, then it will officially start shooting with actors. Jerry will shoot in Dandong for 2 months (by the end of it, it should have started snowing already) and then in Taipei for 1 month.

7 different agencies will collaborate for this project, including Taiwan's CTV. Broadcast copyrights of this drama have been sold in numerous countries already, including Malaysia, Singapore, The Philippines, Vietnam, USA, and Korea. Posted Image

According to Fang Fang, who played Jerry's grandma in MSL and is also one of the investors/actors of this drama, this drama's storyline is like:

The female lead loses her hearing at 18 yrs. old, but she didn't give up. When true love comes, how does she face him? Although she has already had a guy staying on her side since youth and she even thinks that they will be together for this life. However, between love and friendship, there is only a thin line. On the other side, another pair keep on looking for true love. At the end, the man finds true love in Dandong, which is so sincere, so real.

The man on the right side is the Director of this drama. If Jerry really plays a director, then he had the same look as the Director's.

Aug 24, 2012 - Chinatimes

credits: kkla@nbbbs.com

It was reported that Jerry was going to film a tv drama with a heavenly high, top rated talent fee of RMB$500,000 per episode (= NT$2.35 millions).  With 30 episodes, he may be able to earn NT$70.5 millions.  The female lead will be Zeng Kai Xuan, and it will start filming as early as next month at locations in Mainland China and Taiwan.

According to the reporter, Jerry's worth this top rated talent fee due to his high popularity in Asia and excellent money sucking ability in the overseas markets.  At the same time, among other TW idols, Zai Zai, Ming Dao, and Show Luo are asking for RMB$300,000 per episode, He Run Dong for RMB$250,000 per episode, and Ken Zhu/Lan Zheng Long for RMB$100,000-200,000 per episode.

In this new drama, Jerry will play a director with a rugged look.  That's why he is learning film/movie photography and lighting.  His agent replied about this news, "There have been contacts and he feels that the script is quite good, but details are still in discussion.  We will charge reasonable talent fee.  Regarding what's reasonable, we can't review."

On the other hand, Hua Yang's posters have got over 50,000 hits on FB for just 10 days...

Jerry Yan to attend Shanghai Film Festival

Jerry Yan, Joseph Cheng Yuen Cheung, Ivy Chen, Michelle Chen starred FA YEUNG (RIPPLE) caught attention at the Cannes Film Festival. Michelle Chen and Joseph Cheng were popular there and the film teaser had rave reviews. The team will follow up with the Shanghai International Film Festival. This time  Jerry Yan will promote.

Jerry Yan  wrote online, "616 see you at the Shanghai Film Festival." This was his return to Shanghai since he completed MY SPLENDID LIFE. Yuk fans from around the world have already planned to support him in Shanghai. This time  Jerry Yan's performance in FA YEUNG was also his transition work. His pirate look had added maturity and sorrow. In the film he also had many scenes and a lot of troubles with the Simon Yam Tat Wa played pirate. In one scene Yam Tat Wa held the top half of his body in the water. For this film,  Jerry Yan  added a lot of scars; but when he saw how agile he was in the teaser he thought it was worth everything.

Jerry Yan thanked his fans for their support. "In the vast sea of people, everyone who originally didn't know each other all became my family and even spent such a long day together. How wonderful is fate! I wish everyone is happy!" He also said that he would see them at the Shanghai Film Festival opening ceremony on the 16th.

Ya Ting depicts a few things with us when filming with Jerry.
When Jerry and her were waiting at the road for director to shout action,
Jerry asked her: Are you nervous?
Ya Ting: A little.
Jerry: Hur, me too. No matter how many times i have done for such things, i will still be nervous. But don't be nervous, because i am here.

We will be vulnerable! But because we have the effort to show our love and care, this makes us strong!

You will be strong if you know how to contribute.

It was reported that only 2 days after the stunt double fell from the 2nd floor, Yan Cheng Xu himself also fell from high place. Yesterday, his agency didn't want to talk much about it by responding, "He's ok. He only wants to do his best when filming."

Hua Yang's producer said that he got some bruises on his leg when he tried to have a front flip on a wire, but he hit a(n) double/extra when he landed." Due to some pain, it affected how he walked initially. However, the production team is rushing the filming as they need to finish before the due date of returning all rental equipments and filming studio. Therefore, YCX, who is very professional, didn't see the doctor until the next day. After the check up, he rushed back to resume the filming again. It was a surprise when his long hair, pirated look was exposed.

Hua Yang's producer praised YCX, "He is super professional. He continues the filming with injuries almost everyday. When something requires 3 scores to finish, he will finish it with 5 scores. Other than praising him for his outstanding performance, the Director also encourages him all the time.

Jerry Yan witnessed body double’s fall

Taiwanese actor Jerry Yan had planned on personally shooting a fighting scene for his upcoming new movie Scarlet recently.

However, as the scene required many tough stunts like back and side flips, a stuntman took his place. Unfortunately during filming, the safety wire snapped and the stuntman fell from two-storey high.

The stuntman was then rushed to a nearby hospital and was fortunately not severely injured.

Jerry, who witnessed the fall of his body double, recalled, "It'd be me that fall, if the wire had snapped a little later."

This is not the first time that injuries have happened on set.

During martial art practice before the filming commenced, Jerry had wounded his right index finger. And just a month ago, the actor suffered from a swollen face when filming for a scene in which he fell into water.

When asked if the film's producer wants to continue with the actor performing stunts personally, she said, "[Jerry Yan] rarely used a body double, but we wouldn't let him do any dangerous scenes."

Jerry has since expressed that he plans to pray for his safety and the well-being of his stunt double.

According to TW Apple Daily, during the filming of Hua Yang 2 days ago, when Jerry's stunt double tried to model some actions for Jerry with the wire, the wire was suddenly broken, and the double fell to the ground from the 2nd floor.  Luckily, after the double was sent to the hospital for check up, he returned to work the next day without injuries.  Jerry, who was shocked, plans to wish good luck for himself and the double in a temple.

The producer of Hua Yang indicated that Jerry wanted to play the stunt himself at first, but the stunt involved 2 very difficult actions that Jerry's double played the actions at the end.  When asked whether it would be more careful not to allow Jerry to play any stunts in the future, she said that basically Jerry wanted to play a lot of stunts himself, but if it's dangerous, the team wouldn't allow at all.

January 21 2012 AppleDaily News – Cute Jerry printed on red packet

Fan club yanchengxu.net was very thoughtful to prepare Chinese New Year gifts for Jerry. Besides designing a red packet with a photo of Jerry when he was a kid, they also donated TW $30,000 to the children in St Francis School which Jerry visited before to celebrate Chinese New Year. They sent the gifts to Mazu as Jerry was filming movie, Scarlet there. He didn’t notice it initially. After looking at the red packet for a few seconds, he then laughed and said, “haha, I am popular!”

Clarification on CNY - F4 REUNION

January 12, 2012

Yesterday, news was released in Mainland China and transferred all over about Jiang Su Satellite Spring Festival Concert's Executive Director claimed that they had received contracts from all F4's 4 members for performing 2 songs at the Spring Festival Concert. In the news, it was reported that ZZ was the first one who accepted the offer, and he's so enthusiastic that he even started looking around for the peforming outfits for F4.

Today, Lian He Bao reported that both ZZ and Vanness' agents denied any F4's reunion at Jiang Su Satellite's Spring Festival concert. There's rumor that the plan aborted due to disagreement on talent fees between Jiang Su Satellite and F4. ZZ's agent replied that it was not about the money, but about format and sincerity, as the four parties of F4 have agreement that the next reunion should have some special meaning that it would be either for big charity event or CCTV's well organized Spring Festival concert. At this time, YCX and Zhu Xiao Tian are busy filming movies in Matsu and Heng Dian.
